New Life Christian Community

New Life is an interdenominational COMMUNITY OF DISCIPLES as we are all members of a local Christian church where we receive sacraments or ordinances.  We are a Community because we have made a personal commitment to God and to each other.

New Life’s MISSION is to live the new life in Jesus Christ and to bring that new life to others.

“To be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:23-24 (NIV)

New Life’s VISION is to see God’s love in all circumstances.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NIV)

New Life is CHARISMATIC following the way of love and eagerly desiring spiritual gifts. 1 Corinthians 14:1 (NIV)

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

New Life is INTERDENOMINATIONAL keeping the unity of the single Holy Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3-6 (NIV)

“The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (NIV)

New Life Intercessory Prayer - Persistent Petitions

Father, we your people of New Life, lift our prayers to you with one voice.

We pray for legislators, executives, and jurists of our nation, our state, and our county, that they would be sensitive to your will.  We pray specifically for an end to legalized abortion and that those who favor abortion would have a change of heart and defend life from conception until you call us home.  We also pray for protection for Christians that we be free to live and to conduct business according to their faith;

We pray for our brothers and sisters throughout the world who are legally persecuted and cannot profess their faith in your son, Jesus.  We pray for their complete religious freedom;

We pray that those who produce values-subverting television programming would have a change of heart and produce shows that promote Christian virtues.  We pray that all the youth of our nation would be brought into a closer union with You and that they be protected from all forms of violence;

We pray that all warring nations would beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.  That they would bring about a just and lasting peace to all nations.  And we pray that we would be protected against all future acts of terrorism;

We pray for protection against the intensifying efforts to redefine marriage from the permanent, faithful, and fruitful union of one man and one woman that You ordained.  We also pray for a growing understanding of this sacrament as the fundamental moral and social institution essential to the common good;

We pray for transforming spiritual revival in our region, particularly for the fruit of Somebody Cares Baltimore, ACT* Now Baltimore, and the churches in Baltimore City, to mobilize the Body of Christ throughout Central Maryland;

We pray that, since we have diverse views of what unity should be in the body of Christ, whatever you have in mind for unity among believers will be maintained or obtained.

Father, we thank you for loving us, for hearing our prayers, and for working all things to your good purposes. We pray this in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit.  AMEN
